The Spires Suites target the Middle East and Indian Markets in the Arabian Travel Market.
The Spires Suites have been in operation since 1995 and have provided serviced apartments to both corporate and leisure markets. Located in the United Kingdom in three different cities, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Birmingham, the Spires boasts just over 100 apartments across each location. The Arabian Travel Market has been a place of huge interest to The Spires and over the past 6 years The Spires Managing Director, Margaret Beattie and National Sales Executive, Craig Duguid have been travelling to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and setting up The Spires stall in the Arabian Travel Market to successfully target both the Middle Eastern and Indian markets. This year the Arabian Travel Market will take place from the 30th of April until the 3rd of May.
The 2011 exhibition review by the Arabian Travel Market revealed the overall attendance was up by 15% on the 2010 event, a massive step up in which the Arabian Travel Market has described as a mirror of strength of the regional tourism industry and cemented the event’s position as the leading travel exhibition for the Middle East. With the event going from strength to strength there is no reason why The Spires shouldn’t be there promoting their serviced apartments and breaking into Middle Eastern and Indian Markets.
In the 2009 India Market and Trade profile by visit Britain, it was discovered that Indian perceptions of Britain are exceptionally upbeat and many Indians have a broad cultural connection with Britain. This knowledge is vital when breaking into the Indian market, something which will be of great benefit to the Spires, knowing Indians themselves are willing and happy to explore Britain.

Fortunately for the Spires, the Birmingham location could be a possibility for any Olympic attendees as it is only a 90 minute train journey into London city centre. And with the Olympic football being held in Glasgow, the Spires have the perfect location for supporters within Glasgow city centre.
Craig Duguid, national sales manager for the Spires has attended the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai for the past 6 years, and has said, “The Arabian Travel Market has been very beneficial to The Spires, especially in Glasgow and I hope this will continue in the future”.
