The following are some of the 2025 event highlights taking place in each location. These include one-off events, carnivals, food festivals and local cultural events.
Forthcoming events in Aberdeen include the Aberdeen Comedy Festival (22nd September – 5th October) with stand-up and family friendly comedy across city venues; the Braemar Folk Festival (3rd – 5th October) and the Fringe Festival (24th-26th October), with over 200 shows across multiple city venues.
Events taking place in Birmingham include Moseley Folk & Arts Festival (29th – 31st August) at Moseley Park; Bulls in the City Art Trail with bull and calve sculptors throughout the city (16th July until 14th September); a city-wide free festival with live performances and street entertainment in central Birmingham (23rd – 25th August) and Birmingham Heritage Week (12th-21st September), featuring over 100 events through talks, tours, exhibitions and activities.
The NoFit State thrilling circus spectacular is taking place (12th September) with aerial feats, entertainment and live music at Bute Park; Cardiff Music City Festival at multiple venues (3rd – 18th October) and Cardiff Half Marathon through famous city landmarks (5th October).
Edinburgh is hosting many events throughout the year, including the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo (1st - 23rd August), the famous annual Edinburgh International Festival (1st - 24th August) and Edinburgh Festival Fringe (1st – 25th August) are ones not to miss this summer!.
2025 sees Glasgow celebrate 850 years it was granted Burgh status in 1175. Throughout the year there are signature events and cultural festivals that will incorporate special themes related to the 850-year anniversary. Highlights include the 2025 World Pipe Band Championships at Glasgow Green (15th – 16th August); the Ultimate City-wide Cocktail Extravaganza across many bars and venues (29th August – 7th September) and Glasgow Doors Open Day Festival offering rare access to over 150 buildings (18th – 21st September).
