WHAT'S ON
Our central locations provide easy access to many attractions, restaurants and shopping areas to ensure there is plenty to do whilst staying at The Spires.
The following are some of the current event highlights taking place in each location. These include one-off events, festivals and local cultural events.

ABERDEEN
Aberdeen has plenty of places to visit and dine at. Wander down to the harbour and spot dolphins, visit Aberdeen Maritime Museum or perhaps play a round of golf at one of the many courses in Aberdeenshire.
The Granite City Festival takes place at Hazlehead Park (27 June) which brings together well-known DJs and musicians for a celebration of electronic music; The Festival of the Sea celebrates Aberdeen’s maritime heritage (11 – 26 July) and Storybook Land Festival (17 – 18 July) at Wylie Park is a free family event of make believe and fun
BIRMINGHAM
The Spires Birmingham is centrally located and within walking distance of attractions, shops and restaurants. Take a stroll alongside the canal to Brindleyplace and enjoy tree-lined squares and an attractive backdrop with plenty of places to eat. Other recommendations include a trip to Cadbury World, shopping at the Bullring and Grand Central and a visit to The Jewellery Quarter.
Forthcoming highlights include Birmingham Rum Festival (27 June), Birmingham Cocktail Weekend (9 – 12 July) and The Shakespeare Express Railway Experience (26 July – 30 August). .


CARDIFF
Explore Cardiff on foot from The Spires and visit Cardiff Castle, Bute Park or the National Museum. For exhilaration, head to Cardiff International White Water and experience the likes of white water rafting, kayaking and even ‘hotdogging’ for an adrenaline-filled tandem adventure.
For day trips outside the city this summer, head to the coast at Whitmore Bay with its long sandy beach, Aberavon beach in Port Talbot or Rest Bay beach, all within driving distance.
This summer enjoy Armed Forces Day Picnic in the Park (20 June) Cardiff Food & Drink Festival (3 – 5 July) and Depot in the Castle music festival (26 July).
EDINBURGH
The Spires Edinburgh central location is within walking distance of many landmarks and famous sites. Take an energetic walk to Arthur’s Seat, visit Edinburgh Castle or perhaps enjoy the many nearby shops and restaurants.
Edinburgh has a variety of festivals in 2026 with highlights that include Edinburgh International Children’s Festival (30 May – 7 June), Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival (17 – 26 July), The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo (7 – 30 August) and Edinburgh International Festival (7 – 30 August).


GLASGOW
Glasgow offers plenty of places to visit and explore. Recommendations include visiting the Botanic Gardens, Kelvingrove Park and perhaps even a Whisky walking tour with a guided pub crawl!
This summer, Glasgow will be hosting the Commonwealth Games in what is sure to be an unforgettable experience. Enjoy Glasgow in July and August and the build-up to the Commonwealth Games with live music, food festivals and gigs alongside the annual TRNSMT festival at Glasgow Green (19 to 21 June).
