WHAT'S ON
Our central locations provide easy access to many attractions, restaurants and shopping areas to ensure there is plenty to do whilst staying at The Spires.
The following are some of the current event highlights taking place at each location. These include one-off events, festivals and local cultural events.

ABERDEEN
Aberdeen has plenty of places to visit and dine at. Wander down to the harbour and spot dolphins, visit Aberdeen Maritime Museum or perhaps play a round of golf at one of the many courses in Aberdeenshire.
Enjoy a taste of Bavaria at Aberdeen’s Official Oktoberfest on 18th September at Harbourworks on York Street or have some laughs at the Aberdeen Comedy Festival from 19th September to 4th October at various local venues.
BIRMINGHAM
The Spires Birmingham is centrally located and within walking distance of attractions, shops and restaurants. Take a stroll alongside the canal to Brindleyplace and enjoy tree-lined squares and an attractive backdrop with plenty of places to eat. Other recommendations include a trip to Cadbury World, shopping at the Bullring and Grand Central and a visit to The Jewellery Quarter.
Forthcoming highlights include The Shakespeare Express steam locomotive from central Birmingham to Stratford-upon-Avon on each Sunday in August; the Pairc Festival, Britain’s biggest celebration of Irish music and culture on 24th August; the New Street Eats street-food market in the city centre on 27th September or family fun at Gladiators Live at Utilita Arena on 23rd October.


CARDIFF
Explore Cardiff on foot from The Spires and visit Cardiff Castle, Bute Park or the National Museum. For exhilaration, head to Cardiff International White Water and experience the likes of white-water rafting, kayaking and even ‘hotdogging’ for an adrenaline-filled tandem adventure.
For day trips outside the city, head to the coast at Whitmore Bay with its long sandy beach, Aberavon beach in Port Talbot or Rest Bay beach, all within driving distance.
Join The Monmouthshire Express Mainline Steam Tour on 23rd August departing Cardiff Central Station on a heritage steam-train to Hereford, attend the BIG Indie Tribute Festival at Tramshed Cardiff on 19th September or enjoy a touch of the Caribbean at Cardiff Rum & Reggae Festival at DEPOT Cardiff on 17th October.
EDINBURGH
The Spires Edinburgh central location is within walking distance of many landmarks and famous sites. Take an energetic walk to Arthur’s Seat, visit Edinburgh Castle or enjoy the many nearby shops and restaurants.
Edinburgh has a variety of festivals including the renowned Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo (7th to 29th August) and Edinburgh International Festival (7th to 30th August). Stockbridge Family Market is held at Saunders Street on 12th September with The Edinburgh Dungeon's Halloween Takeover at Market Street from 12th to 16th October.


GLASGOW
Glasgow offers plenty of places to visit and explore. Recommendations include visiting the Botanic Gardens, Kelvingrove Park and perhaps even a Whisky walking tour with a guided pub crawl!
Enjoy the Foodies Festival at Rouken Glen Park from 14th to 16th August, the Glasgow Youth Film Festival on 25th September, the Glasgow Autumn Harvest Festival at Roukeb Glen Park from 16th to 18th October or a family Halloween Spooktacular at Borad Commons Park on 31st October.
